TO say TelOne looked disappointed after suffering their eighth straight defeat at home to Agama is an understatement, they were hopeless, spineless and direction-less.
If losing five times at home under former coach Hebert Maruwa was not enough warning of the relegation threat, then nothing will ever give them a heads-up to start fighting.
The Wifi Boys are staring down the barrel of relegation, anchoring the log standings with a measly eight points from 15 outings.
It is deeply worrying for the Gweru side that in their last two home matches they have dropped points against perhaps the weakest teams in the league.
Defeats to Manica Diamonds and Agama have now put the Saul Chaminuka side into a spot of bother.
Chaminuka was recently appointed to guide the team to safety, but after five matches in charge, his scorecard is not pleasing.
But perhaps the most concerning thing about TelOne’s situation is that the team’s poor mentality is rubbing off on the coach.
Chaminuka now believes their home ground is jinxed.
“I think that is the general feeling of the whole team, players and myself included, we need to get away from this pitch and play our football elsewhere,” he said after the loss to Agama.
TelOne have a huge encounter against Highlanders this Saturday, but Chaminuka is already resigned to fate.
“We are dropping points at home, the team has not even drawn at home, it seems when we play away, the players are much relieved.”
