The Aloe vera: All rounder medicine

Hello dear friends and welcome to this week’s edition of my health, my wealth, our food our medicine.

Today we will look at Aloe vera.

At one time when addressing a group of women, a lady said she believed that aloe vera is the mother of all medicines.

I agree and hold that thought in high esteem. Aloe vera plants are easy to grow and maintain, but when it comes to their components, these plants may do more than simply offer character to a living space and beautifying gardens.

The leaves of an aloe vera plant are packed with a soft clear gel that’s been praised for many medicinal benefits. Used with Graviola, one can be sure of a variety of benefits, some of which are listed below.

It is possible to make juice and when one is used to it, they can have the juice, even on a daily basis.

Benefits of aloe vera juice may include:

•Treating constipation.

• Providing vitamin C

• Staying hydrated

• Reducing gum inflammation

• Controlling blood sugar levels

• Preventing stomach ulcers

• Relieve constipation

• Help balance sugar levels

• Add healthy bacteria in the body

• Balancing intestinal flora

• Boost circulation

• Skin care

• A reliable mouth -wash

• Relieves heartburn

• Potential to fight different cancers

• Helps with digestion

• Relieves nausea

• Good for healing and treating burns

• Restore skin texture after injuries

• Can be used for children in low dosages for tummy issues

• Eczema relief

• De-wormer

• Fights ring worms

• Can be used for hair growth and for shampoos

• Repairs damaged hair

• Maintain young looking skin

• Beneficial for blood pressure

• Helpful for inflammation and sun-burnt skin

Get a piece of aloe vera leaf

You can find aloe vera leaves from your garden. The dotted one is my favourite because it is as tasteless as water.

You’ll only need one leaf as there’s quite a bit of gel hiding underneath the thick skin.

 Peel the aloe vera leaf

Use a sharp knife to cut away all of the skin, revealing the aloe gel centre. Be very careful as the gel makes hands and knives very slippery. Some friends of mine prefer not to peel off the skin. I say it has even better preparation.

Rinse the aloe gel

It’s important to give it a good rinse.

Blend with water

Dilute the aloe gel with water by blending in a blender. You can blend until it’s completely smooth, or pulse so that there are chewy bits (my kids’ preference). If you do not have a blender, a wooden spoon also does the magic well.

Aloe vera drink flavour variations

Fresh, pure aloe vera juice can be left as-is and won’t taste like anything. You can store it in the fridge and add to diluted juices or drink as is. The following may also be added to create interesting drinks

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice

1/2 cup pure pomegranate juice

2/3 cup pure pineapple juice

Fresh water

Take good care my friends and many blessings. GOD Bless us and let us remember to sip on Graviola-Aloe juice as well as to take care of ourselves and each other.
