Evangelist Peter Madondo—
One Biblical account that always leaves me flabbergasted is the bizarre choice by the multitudes in presence during the trial of Jesus.
There stood the man who had done wonders to the world. When they had run out of wine at the wedding at Cana he was the solution turning jars of water into the sweetest wine ever. (John 2: 7ff). They acknowledged they had never drank such sweet wine and all was the touch of the master.
They were well acquainted to the men who had been wallowing in agony at Bethsaida for close to four decades. They were all hopeless about his situation, even his closest relations had rejected him. It only needed the master Jesus to spare a few minutes and heal the man who was literally declared invalid (John 5:7 ff). It is not a secret that all other people had proved too impatient to wait for a couple of minutes to roll the languishing man into the healing waters upon the arrival of the angel for his total healing.
Jesus had in the sight of multitudes restored the sight of Bartemeus. The multitudes had enjoyed the two fish and five loaves of bread feastival. All this and other countless miracles were performed by Jesus in their presence. They had undoubtedly benefitted from his miracles. Directly or indirectly Jesus had impacted their lives in a positive way.
Now the consipiracy of men and absolute hatred overtook their sanity and in no time Jesus became their nemesis. They sought every opportunity to slay him. (Matthew 27: 1 ff) and the Son of Man was in no time arrayed before the corrupt courts. When his trial began it was a full house. Every person wanted to see the supposedly demise of the man who had done so much amongst them.
Pilate having failed to come up with substantial evidence to convict Him he decided to inquire from the crowd which was boiling in anger, hatred and baying for his blood. Mathew 27:17 “therefore, when they were gathered, Pilate said unto them, whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas or Jesus, which is called Christ”.
The response given on this particular day is the most bizarre I have ever heard. Barabbas was a criminal who had caused sleepless nights amongst them, He had raped their daughters and left them devastated. Barabbas was the men who had duped them uncountable times. The fugitive Barabbas had wrecked havoc and to anyone sane, the place was better off without such a character.
Lo and Behold they insisted the wanted the bad guy in the place of Jesus. Such is the nature of us humans today. We have the propensity of making choices that will get back to bit us.

It is only a fool who would think Barabbas was going to transform because he would think if I have become so popular in my trade then certainly it was game on. Deutronomy 30:15 God say” Look I have put before yee this day life and good, and death and evil”. God always put us in situations that enable us to make choices and as we make choice let me hasten to reminding you that we will also be hold accountable for our choices.
Close your eyes and reflect on the choices you have made in life. Are your choices not tantamount to cry for Barabbas in the place of Jesus. Let me encourage you to consider Jesus before we take any action, before you hop onto that bed ask yourself what would Jesus do, Before you embark on that vengeance mission , before you snatch that man from his wife and before you dupe that innocent person .Are you sure there is no better choice. Is that not a bizarre choice that will make you regret eternally.
Look today millions live in regret for what they did to God incarnate .why Let us shun evil choices and choose life. Let putting a halt to bizarre choices be a prerogative hence becoming a generation that anyone would yearn to be associated to.
