THE players who will be brought into the HIGHLANDERS fold to boost the club, when their FIFA transfer ban is lifted, have been revealed.

Bosso were forced to register only 17 players to leave space for 13 others who are set to join the club when the FIFA transfer ban is lifted. The ban was imposed after the club failed to settle debts owed to former coaches Baltemar Brito and Antonio Joao Torres.

Businessman Wicknell Chivayo cleared the debt and Bosso are expecting FIFA to lift the ban soon. Torres confirmed the payment through social media, expressing his gratitude to Chivayo for stepping in to resolve the situation.

The Bulawayo giants were clearly short on personnel when they lost 0-1 to newboys MWOS in their opening match at Baobab on Sunday. A schoolboy error by their goalkeeper led to Bosso’s defeat in what was a tight game.

They will face Kwekwe United in their first home game of the season at Barbourfields on Sunday.

The timing of the ban had been particularly challenging for the club, coming on the back of the departure of key players such as Peter Muduhwa, Lynoth Chikuhwa, Godfrey Makaruse and Marvelous Chigumira, all of whom joined Scottland.

Among the new faces set to join Highlanders once the ban is lifted are the likes of defender Marlvern Hativagoni, who belongs to Bulawayo Chiefs, on a one-year loan deal.

His experience at the top level will be a big asset to the Bosso defence.

He was on loan at Ngezi Platinum last season and played in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Striker Never Rauzhi, also from Bulawayo Chiefs, will return to Bosso despite strong interest from TelOne.

Rauzhi, a pacy and skillful attacker was plagued by injury when he joined Bosso last season. Winger Tendai Muvuti, who played for Hwange last season, is also set to move to Highlanders. Midfielder Hubert Ncube, from ZPC Hwange, former Chegutu Pirates striker Panashe Mushonga and Mbonisi Ncube, who has played for BDF XI in Botswana are all set to join Bosso.

Highlanders are also set to promote 19-year-old left-back Luckmore Mutumbi from their development side to the First Team.

Mutumbi’s promotion is a testament to the club’s commitment to nurturing home-grown talent. Teenage winger Mafious Junior Chiweta, who has been impressive for Ajax Hotspurs in the ZIFA Southern Region Division One League, is also set to join Bosso.
