ENTREPRENEUR Nyasha ‘The Female Photographer’ Gurure has launched a creative hub to try and help youths fight drug abuse ahead of National Youth Day celebrations today.
The veteran photographer said her project is meant to foster creativity among the youths.
“I opened a vibrant creative hub in the heart of Chitungwiza and it is designed to be a safe and inspiring space.
“It aims to bring together gifted young artists and creatives to nurture their talents in their creative journeys.
“I named this hub, Beehive, and it is a direct response to the growing concern over drug abuse among young creatives in Chitungwiza.”
She added:
“As an artist who grew up in this community, I have seen first hand the devastating impact of drug abuse on talented young people.
“Many artists struggle with depression and anxiety and often turn to drugs as a coping mechanism.
“I want to provide a safe and supportive space where they can express themselves, learn from each other, and grow as artists.”
Nyasha said the innovative space seeks to provide support and inspiration for gifted young creatives.
“I hope to bring a range of activities and resources, including art classes, workshops, writing groups and mentorship programmes.
“The space is designed to be inclusive and welcoming with a focus on fostering collaboration and creativity among the youths.
“By providing a positive and supportive environment, I hope to inspire young creatives to reach their full potential and make a meaningful contribution to the community.
“I believe that every young person has a unique gift or talent and it’s our responsibility as a community to nurture and support them.”
