The Holy Ghost as an Advocate packages our case in a language and jargon that we ourselves do not comprehend

ROMANS 8:26-27
Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
We pray, but we do not exactly know what to pray for even how to pray. We pray, but our prayers are only effective and effectual when they are taken over by the intercessor. We may have people who call themselves intercessors, but there is only One who properly and effectively makes intercession for us. The Holy Ghost makes intercession for us. We are weak and infirm. We are feeble and ineffectual. But when we pray, and the Holy Ghost takes over our prayers, He makes intercession for us, making our prayers effectual. The Holy Ghost speaks in a language and with intensity that we cannot utter and attain.
Paul says we do not know the things of God, but the Spirit knows.
1 Corinthians 2:10-11 reads: “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. [11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”
The deep things of God are revealed to us by the Spirit. No-one knows what is in a man except the spirit of that man. No-one knows the things of God except through the Spirit of God. When the Holy Ghost prays within us, He will be uttering our prayers before God in a manner that He knows God understands. He knows the things of God.
The Holy Ghost therefore performs the work of an advocate.
1 John 2:1 reads: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
He is our Advocate. What does He do as an Advocate? An advocate knows the story of the accused, and also knows the mind of the judge by his knowledge of the law.
He pleads our case and appeals to the sense of justice of the judge, and persuades him to accept your story.
He uses legal jargon and quotes a lot legal citations, all of which you may not be familiar with, but you trust that he is doing it in your best interest.
The Holy Ghost as an Advocate packages our case in a language and jargon that we ourselves do not comprehend. This is not necessarily speaking in tongues. The Holy Ghost is more than tongues.
As an Advocate, He has mercy. He stands in our place and does things that we cannot do or say things we cannot say. He is the propitiation for our sins. He is our righteousness.
He makes intercession for our ignorance. Sometimes we ignorantly stagger into some sin, and the Holy Spirit is there to be an Advocate for us. He is our Advocate. He stands as our Attorney. He stands there and pleads for us. We don’t plead for ourselves, because the Holy Ghost in us pleads for us. The Holy Spirit utters words we can’t understand, and He makes intercessions for us according to the will of God.
As Christians, we are exhorted to make intercessions for all people.
1 Timothy 2:1 reads: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.”
However, these intercessory prayers need an intercessor to make them effective. It boils down to the fact that there is only one Intercessor between us and God, for our prayers to be heard.
Paul says that in Romans 8:34 when he says: “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
It is Christ, Who, as the Holy Ghost, makes intercession for us.
Hebrews 7:25 says: “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Jesus Christ is ever alive, making intercession for us as our Advocate.
The devil is the accuser of the saints, but Christ is our Advocate with the Father.
The Spirit helps us in our infirmities.
He makes up for our weaknesses and transforms our prayers to become powerful and effectual. God does not react to our grammar and diction. He reacts to the Spirit which speaks in a language that God is persuaded by.
