The bottom line — it’s your holiday.

On the entertainment scene — Nigerian singer Wizkid is in the country.

Something you don’t know about Wizkid, here is some information that might help you.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born July 16 1990), better known by his stage name Wizkid (sometimes stylised as WizKid), is a Nigerian recording artiste, songwriter and performer.

He started his musical career at age 11, releasing a collaborative album with Glorious Five titled “Lil Prinz” (2001).

In 2009, he signed a record deal with Banky W’s imprint Empire Mates Entertainment.

He rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the song “Holla at Your Boy” from his debut studio album, “Superstar” (2011). “Tease Me/Bad Guys”, “Don’t Dull”, “Gidi Girl”, “Love My Baby”, “Pakurumo” and “Oluwa Lo Ni” were also released as singles from the superstar album.

Wizkid’s self-titled second studio album, “Ayo” (2014), was preceded by the singles “Jaiye Jaiye”, “On Top Your Matter”, “One Question”, “Joy”, “Bombay” and “Show You The Money”.

In addition to his solo work, Wizkid has collaborated with several artistes and was featured on the hits “Girl” (with Bracket), “Fine Lady” (with Lynxxx), “Sexy Mama” (with Iyanya), “Slow Down” (with R2Bees), “The Matter” (with Maleek Berry), “Pull Over” (with KCee) and “Bad Girl” (with Jesse Jagz).

His work and contribution to the Nigerian music industry has earned him several achievements, including a BET Award, a MOBO Award, three The Headies Awards, two Channel O Music Video Awards, four Nigeria Entertainment Awards, a Ghana Music Award, two Dynamix All Youth Awards, two City People Entertainment Awards, and a Future Award.

In addition, he has been nominated three times at the MTV Europe Music Awards as well as four times at the World Music Awards.

He was ranked fifth on Forbes and Channel O’s 2013 list of the Top 10 Richest/Bankable African Artistes.

In February 2014, Wizkid became the first ever Nigerian musician to have over one million followers on Twitter. — Wikipedia.

News from the big screen — Box Office revealed “The Jungle Book” — It’s early to call this one a likely top performer, but if you saw the footage at D23 this month then you know why this film already looks likely to wow audiences and amaze critics.

Jon Favreau knows how to deliver great entertainment, and the imagery from this film was mind-blowing.

Nothing you’ve seen in visual effects and CGI work for animals, creatures, and outdoor settings will prepare you for what you’ll see in this film, if the sizzle reel Disney unveiled is any hint of what to expect.

Not that crazy-great effects and talking animals in and of itself guarantees blockbuster success, of course.

No, what the footage also revealed was a beloved classic story revisited not only with grand scale but also with deep emotions.

I’m betting the footage and buzz is an accurate reflection of what’s coming, and it could turn out to be Disney’s biggest live-action adaptation yet.

The live-action Cinderella topped $542 million this year, with a March release date.

The April release date for this new film is slightly better in terms of kids being out of school for holiday, and it moves the theatrical run closer to the start of summer box office season.

It has to face the competition from “Batman v Superman” and “Captain America: Civil War”, as well as “The Huntsman”, “Alice Through the Looking Glass”, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, plus perhaps “Ratchet & Clank” and “The Angry Birds Movie”.

That sounds bad, but most of those films roll out after “The Jungle Book” releases, over a period of six weeks.

That’s steady competition, but it leaves room for “The Jungle Book” to open big, hold strong, and get some legs under it.
