SOUTH Africa-based Zimbabwean content creators, The Musekaz, are quickly becoming household names on TikTok and Facebook, thanks to their amazing skits, humour and unapologetic portrayal of life as young Zimbabweans in the diaspora.

The duo has grown a massive online following through their short-form video content.

From mimicking family drama to hilarious exaggerations of Zimbabwean traditions, The Musekaz are finding a sweet spot between comedy and cultural storytelling.

In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, The Musekaz said their aim is not just to entertain, but also to bring joy and representation.

“We started off just doing this for fun. But the love and support we’ve received has made us realise that we’re telling stories that a lot of people relate to.

“It has made us realise how much we love and miss home.

“Most of our skits reflect that contrast between Zimbabwean and South African cultures, and people love the authenticity,” they said.

Their videos often poke fun at family life, relationships, and township experiences.

“We’re inspired by real conversations and the way Zimbabweans express themselves.

“We take the ordinary and make it funny.

“Our elders watch our videos, so we always think twice before posting anything wild.”

With ambitions to expand into longer-form content and even live shows, The Musekaz are showing that Zimbabwean talent knows no borders.

As they continue to build their digital empire one skit at a time, their message remains simple – laughter is healing, and home is never too far away.

In just over a year, Zimbabwean content creators The Musekaz have skyrocketed to fame on platforms like TikTok and Facebook, amassing an impressive 2.3 million followers with their unique brand of family-centred, clean entertainment.

Based in South Africa, the family has captivated audiences across the globe with their dancing, gaming skits, and hilarious family dynamics all while staying true to their cultural roots.

“We used to do all of this off-camera,” recalls Mama Shosho, one of the leading figures in the group.

“Then one day, Papa Shosho said, ‘Why don’t we create a page?’ I wasn’t sure people would watch us, but here we are now!”
