The mystery of declining testosterone

Marian Nyasha Kwari-Herbalist

Friends, greetings and welcome! I am Nyasha, the herbalist. For this week’s herbal space, we are concentrating on foods designed for men.

According to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, testosterone levels in men have decreased significantly since 1987.

In comparison to males of the same age a generation ago, men nowadays generally have less testosterone.

A man turning 45 today, for instance, has significantly less testosterone than a man who turned 45 in 1987. We all know that this is due to variables related to poor health and lifestyle choices, such as obesity and diabetes, which are known to influence levels and also cause prostate issues in the majority of men.

Men’s health still faces additional difficulties. In contrast to the finding of numerous European research that sperm counts are declining, rates of some reproductive illnesses such as testicular cancer continue to rise.

The list of foods that can help men with this issue is provided below. Keep in mind that the goal is to heal through food while also addressing any hormonal imbalances in your body.

You should consume these foods as snacks in addition to your regular meals. You can prevent cancer and any prostate-related problems by leading a healthy and happy life.

Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, butternut seeds, sesame seeds, flax seeds

All nuts eg round nuts, groundnuts and cashew nuts etc, all types of berries eg cranberries, strawberries etc, traditional berries such as maonde/makuyu, nhegeni or tsubvu etc, guava leaf tea, cucumbers, corn-silk tea, turmeric spice tea, plums, beetroot, carrot, onion juice made from onion rings.

Moringa seed tea and moringa bark tea and cooking a handful of moringa leaves in relish daily.

Note that you can either roast or eat all seeds raw. It is also crucial for men to consume less sadza and more alternative starches.

Instead of sadza, why not substitute it with peanut butter, pumpkin, or butternut? Merely a thought.

To conclude this week’s article, Graviola is also an effective testosterone and libido booster for men. Please remember to use herbs in your everyday life to heal ailments and promote your health.

Your health is your wealth. Until we meet again. God Bless.
