Greetings beloved nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Welcome to the year 2021. Compliments of the season to you all. Exodus 12 vs 1-2 says, “The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.” The Israelites had been in Egypt for 430 years and every year they were celebrating a new year like we did when we were entering 2021. For some of us probably we were shooting crackers, some were beating drums whilst others were vandalising properties like we have seen in the past. There is a culture that people have believed that as you enter a new year you celebrate it. Some people make resolutions looking forward to the new year and this is done all over the world. There is nothing wrong with celebrating in style. Some celebrated in their homes whilst others disobediently went out and shot crackers in their yards. As churches we gave themes for the year 2021. Unfortunately some could not express themselves in the last month of 2020 because of this pandemic.
We want to look at the keys of entering the year because we should understand that the year has got gates, the month has got gates and the day has got gates. Many people were celebrating that they had entered 2021 but in reality according to the calendar of God some people are still in 1985, some in 2016 and others still in 2020 because if you don’t know how to seize the year spiritually you will never enjoy the benefits of the year 2021. We should understand that life is spiritual and whosoever gets hold of the spiritual will be able to benefit physically. According to the scripture there is no year that is called a bad year. It only becomes a bad year if people have not heard from God. Despite what we are going through with Covid-19, the word of God has not changed, He is still the same God yesterday, today and forever. And God still wants to make you enjoy the blessings that are stored for this year.
Ladies and gentlemen you enter the year in the spirit because the spirit is the mother of the physical. A lot of people have celebrated entering 2021 but according to the calendar of heaven God is saying the only thing that has changed in their life is the number of their age. A new year only becomes a new year if there is a new thing that has been birthed in our lives. We see that the Israelites were in Egypt for 430 years. All these years they were celebrating a new year in Egypt but in the eyes of God it was not a new year. Just imagine how many people who are celebrating 2021 as a new year but are still like the Israelites, they are in spiritual bondage, they have not experienced freedom spiritually or physically. Nothing has changed in their lives but they are saying they have entered a new year.
According to the scriptures the definition of a new year it is when God comes and begins to fight your spiritual enemies and begins to break boundaries. Surely 2021 is a new year but God wants to come for us and rescue us from all that we are going through as a nation. In Exodus 12 vs 1-2 the Lord says to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, remember Egypt represents the world, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.” When God visited Israel He was attracted by their prayer and God started to change the month that they were in to become the first month. Maybe we can say they were in the month of June and God declared that month as a new year. For 430 years they had been celebrating a new year, yet heaven was not celebrating with them. A new year becomes a new year when the heavens start to celebrate with you. Let us ask ourselves, if as we entered 2021, did the heavens celebrate or it was our own flesh that was celebrating and the heavens were closed from celebrating. As we read the whole chapter of Exodus 12, we see when God begins to celebrate a new year with his people, their enemies were defeated, enemies who had oppressed them for the past 430 years. We see them begging the Israelites to leave Egypt because of the calamities that had fallen on them. The Israelites did not come out empty handed, but they were carrying jewellery of gold and silver. The bible says in the book of Psalms 65 vs 11, “You crown the year with Your goodness.” So we see in this scripture that the year has been crowned with goodness and it’s only those that understand the spiritual principle who are going to be able to withdraw the goodness or favour of the year by unlocking it using the keys of the house of David.
I would like to call upon the nation of Zimbabwe to come to the Lord so that God will do for us like the children of Israel in this year 2021. There is nothing so painful as to celebrate the year whilst our experiences are still the same but what has changed is our age. But God is saying that in the midst of this pain, confusion and discouragement, He wants to change our experience this year so that we may be in a heavenly celebration. There is hope in God and there is victory. We are going to make it this year. My prayer to you as a nation is that may God cover and protect you from this pandemic and mend those that have lost their loved ones through this demonic pandemic. In Numbers 31 vs 49 it says, “ and said to him, Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.” I pray this prayer that after the end of this pandemic none of us, our families, friends, men and women of God will be missing in Jesus name. May the same protection that was upon the Israelites as they were leaving Egypt cover Zimbabwe. I pray the covering of the blood of Jesus that speaks of better things than this pandemic. Let there be life and health in hospitals, homes and in all sectors. I declare by the authority of the Lord Jesus that let there be mercy upon our nation.
