Theatre practitioners receive training

Society Reporter

TWELVE theatre practitioners drawn from Bulawayo’s Bambelela Arts Ensemble and Chipinge’s Vivid Zim Entertainment last week received training on how to professionally write plays and perform on stage.

The Savanna Trust, a non-profit organisation that specialises in theatre, organised the 10-day workshop in Bulawayo.

The training was held as part of Savannah’s youth participation in civic and community development processes through the Creative Expression project.

Nicholas Mukaronda, a well-respected theatre trainer, conducted the training.

Savanna Trust communications officer, Sebastian Muzenanhamo said the workshop achieved its intended goals.

“The practitioners were taught how to enhance their writing and acting skills. The intended goals were achieved,” Muzanenhamo said.
