CAPS United newboy Adrian Silla says it was a dream come true to finally put smiles on the club’s fans after being rejected by the Green Machine seven years ago.
Silla produced a moment of magic by scoring an early goal-of-the-season contender in the 81th minute against ZPC at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
He made his top-flight league breakthrough in Bosso’s colours in 2016 when Bongani Mafu was in charge.
He said he spent the entire pre-season with Makepekepe but the club’s technical team were not convinced by his ability.
“I waited for this moment because it was always my dream to play for this team but unfortunately it didn’t happen when I tried on my first attempt.
“I was really hurt because I always dreamt of donning the green-and-white jersey.
“I then went to try out my luck at Bosso and Mafu handed me a good contract in a space of two days,” said Silla.
He says his brother Trevor Ndawana has been instrumental in his journey.
“I can’t thank him enough for what he has done in helping me to believe in myself.
“He is someone who believes in me more than I do and I’m really grateful to have him on my side because he keeps me going.
“That goal was first of many, that’s what I can assure the fans.
“I’m targeting to hit double figures and I believe this platform can help me to force a foreign move at the end of the season, should plans goes accordingly.
“I’m still hungry and we have good coaches and enough experience to maintain this run.”
The Green Machine are yet to concede a goal in 270 minutes of action this season.
They beat Triangle 2-0 in their first game, forced a goalless draw against Ngezi Platinum and edged a gritty ZPC Kariba.
