THEY HAD MILLIONS, THEN THEY BLEW IT ALL

BRACE yourself for some confessions as I Blew It returns for a seventh season, premiering on Sunday on Mzansi Magic.

The fan-favourite reality series shines a spotlight on people of Mzansi who turned life-changing financial payouts into unforgettable chaos and are now confronted with the aftermath of their actions. Moreover, it highlights how financial stress often leads to personal distress, because it is a deep personal loss that goes beyond the money.

It impacts one’s identity, a sense of security and the lifestyle one had become used to.

One such story follows a lady named Lerato, who received a R1.9 million payout after a horrific hit and run accident.

What started off as just buying high-end cars, going on luxury holidays and designer shopping quickly unravelled into disastrous decisions and a failed investment that left her with nothing but regret.

We meet 59 year old Cebisile, who used her R2.1 million RAF payout to chase long delayed dreams buying property, cars and funding a whirlwind romance with a charming “Ben 10”.

As the relationship demanded more, she sold her possessions to maintain the lifestyle, only to face betrayal that left her broke, abandoned and forced to rebuild her life.

These are just some of the deeply personal and cautionary tales that will be shared by those that had it all and lost it all, and how self-reflection can shape the road to financial, emotional and psychological recovery. Multichoice
