HAARRE businessman Kudzai Keita had everything – a beautiful wife, who is a social media star, all the luxury vehicles money could buy and the good life which he enjoyed on both sides of the Limpopo.

Yesterday, in the Harare morning rush hour, the Sisonke Holdings director lost his life, in tragic circumstances, close to Rhodesville Police Station in the capital. His mother, who was travelling in the same vehicle, also died on the scene.

His wife Lonlisha was a Tik-Tok star and was badly injured and is battling for her life at a hospital in the capital. The tragedy dominated social media yesterday.

“I saw this accident this morning and yaitikira pa gate re Rhodesville police,” said Carol Kunaka on Facebook.

“Two dead bodies were still there and that BMW yanga yakaputika all airbags.

“I was taking my child to school and witnessed this and the way he cried ka.

“Little did I know that it was this gentleman.”

Police confirmed the accident in a statement.

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 29/10/24 at around 0542 hours along Robert Mugabe Road, Harare near ZRP Rhodesville.

“Two people were killed while one person was injured when a BMW vehicle with two passengers on board collided with a CAG bus carrying 42 passengers.

“The BMW vehicle had allegedly turned right in front of the oncoming bus.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for post-mortem while the injured person is admitted at the same hospital,” said the statement.

There are a number of versions which have emerged.

One of them was that Keita was injured in another accident last Friday.

However, others have said there was more to the incident than just an accident.

It appears while it is known that Keita was a director at Sisonke Holdings, there was a lot more to what he did for his living, which was not under the public spotlight.

Some are even claiming there was a darker side to his life.

There are reports that the early morning trip yesterday was a visit to see a Madzibaba at a shrine.

“He had another incident recently which almost cost him his life and he felt seeking spiritual protection was a good idea.

“So, he was going with his mother and it’s unfortunate that they both died while his wife survived,” said the source.

A social media personality, Mushy Mzezuru, posted something which captured the attention of many.

“Unenge wakaudzwa chiporofita chekuti mazuva ako ekurarama ave mashoma, uchauraiwa either neaccident or gunshot.

“A few days later you have an accident, you escape death.

“Then you realise the seriousness of the matter your mother and your wife tell you let’s go to church the other day.

“So, your mother and wife are on the way with you to church then a bus hits the car driven by your wife, and your mother and (you) die on the spot.

“The definition of nguva inenge ysvika and a definition of mubereki anomira newe despite everything you would have done in life.”

Another social media user said:

“He was a master of deception, aibhilivhisa vanhu mmmm.

“MaZimba kuda zvinhu, but afa anaka. I am not judging, rest in peace Mike.”

In the coming days, the real Kudzai Keita is likely to emerge. (H Metro)
