In October, Prophet Chiza held a similar all night prayer and more than 17 000 people turned out at White City Stadium and next week’s session will be at Barbourfields Stadium, which has a bigger capacity.
Eagle Life Assembly, also known as FIG Ministries, is headquartered in Harare and has more than 5 000 congregants in Bulawayo alone.
In an interview at Chronicle offices on Sunday, Prophet Chiza said the all night prayers are meant to be a “New Year’s present for the people of God” through deliverance from sin.
“We will be holding an all night prayer called ‘Anointing to cross over’ on 31 December at Barbourfields Stadium where we are saying let us start the year in the presence of the Lord because many people start by a lot of evil things. We are saying the year 2013 is a year, which promises good things. We should start the year with the prophecy of the Lord so that we get promoted in our spirits,” said Prophet Chiza.
He said there would be anointing with oil and healing of the sick.
“People will be anointed with oil that represents the Holy Spirit and we are encouraging people to bring their families so that they are delivered from illnesses and ailments. We had another at White City and we ran out of chairs, as more than 17 000 attended. There was an overflow and by public demand we are having another all night prayer this time at Barbourfields Stadium. Last time we ran out of chairs and this time we are going to use terraces to accommodate more people,” Prophet Chiza said.
He said high profile people including Government Ministers are expected to attend.
“This will be open to any God fearing person including pastors from other churches because it is not a denominational gathering.
“We are advertised countrywide and people will be coming in numbers. We will pray for those with diseases like kidney problems, cancer, asthma, stroke and heart problems. The healing process will involve laying of hands and also declaring while people are on the terraces. There will be a guest speaker Apostle Asa Gurupira who is regarded as the father of many apostles countrywide because of his contribution to the word of God.
Prophet Chiza said there would also be gospel artistes like Obert Chida with his album Igwe the Greatest King, Badwell Muchatuki and Eagle Life Gospel Team.
