“I can confirm that three people died in an accident while another was seriously injured when a Toyota D4D collided head on with a Delta Beverages delivery truck at a fly-over near Redcliff turn-off. The driver of the Toyota D4D tried to overtake a commuter omnibus at a blind-rise and another vehicle emerged from the opposite direction and the two collided head-on.
Three people, including the driver, died on the spot and the injured passenger was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital for treatment,” he said.
There was also pile up due to the limited navigation space at the fly over.
“A kombi which the D4D truck was trying to overtake leading to the accident was also involved in a pile up. There were no serious injuries in the kombi but we still need to make a follow up at the hospital,” he said.
The victims were also taken to Kwekwe General Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
