GREETINGS beloved nation, in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In the Scriptures, we find three main ways by which demons and Satan can gain access to all people, including believers.
These evil spirits, known as demons, seek to possess, influence and control humanity by taking over their bodies.
It’s important to note that demons are spirit beings without bodies. To operate in the physical realm, they must find a human body to use in order to fulfil their master’s agenda on Earth. Since spirits cannot function effectively without bodies when demons begin to take over an individual’s life, unique urges start to manifest — urges that are often extraordinary.
For instance, demons can instigate unusual appetites, desiring to feed themselves through our mouths and bodies. Signs may intermittently arise when a person is under demonic control, such as an uncontrollable appetite for food, leading to excessive consumption without any weight gain. This tendency is called gluttony, which is a spiritual affliction rather than a physical one.
The divine design establishes that a man is meant to have one wife and a woman, one husband. However, some individuals may experience strong urges that lead to extramarital affairs, often justified by society as “normal.” Such behaviour is far from normal, these are demonic influences prompting the desire for multiple partners, reflecting the inner turmoil of a person’s spiritual state.
You may wonder about the moral decay in society. The answer is clear: demons are behind these behaviours. When attempting to cast out these demons, they often resist because they know that in the spiritual realm, there is limited space, leading to an overwhelming number of them seeking hosts. We see this illustrated in the Bible in Luke 8:30, where a man was possessed by a legion of demons, capable of breaking chains and living among tombs. The primary mission of these demons, like their master, is articulated in John 10:10: to “kill, steal, and destroy,” ultimately seeking to lead souls to destruction.
Matthew 12:43-45 explains that when a spirit is cast out, it roams dry places seeking rest. If it finds none, it will return to the house from which it came. Thus, a “house” has doors, and it is essential to close these doors in our lives to prevent demons from finding access points to control or manipulate us.
According to Scripture, there are three primary doors through which demons and Satan gain access to all people, including believers:
First Door — Covenants
Covenants exist not only in the Old and New Testaments, but form a system of authorisation between two or more parties, ratified by the mystery of blood, presenting mutual benefits when adhered to and severe consequences if violated. The concept of covenant predates both testaments.
For instance, Genesis establishes a covenant with the earth to ensure it produces according to its kind. In Genesis 8, after Noah constructed an altar, God made a covenant of seed time and harvest, among others.
Personal and territorial covenants abound in the Bible, some conditional, others everlasting. Personal covenants with God illustrate the severe repercussions of disobedience. In Africa, despite the proliferation of churches, the economy remains stagnant, indicating the powerful influence of covenants.
Thus, covenants represent the primary system of authorisation on earth, recognised by both God and demons.
Second Door — Disobedience
Disobedience is a spiritual force that can precipitate consequences, as illustrated in Deuteronomy 28:1-20. The birth of Jesus does not nullify the force of disobedience; it remains active alongside the force of obedience. Proverbs 26:2 highlights the prevalence of this spiritual influence in many lives, as demons empower individuals to disobey.
Persistently disobedient individuals are often empowered by spirits since human beings are not inherently bad. What it therefore means is that there is a spirit behind that act of disobedience to what God wants.
Third Door — Ignorance
Ephesians 4:18 notes that ignorance serves as a gateway, allowing the enemy to destroy lives, as also seen in John 10:10. Many people strive to break demonic curses and covenants but lack the grace for obedience and spiritual insight, as mentioned in Psalms 82:5-7. Jesus exemplified the importance of understanding what to do, as noted in John 6:6. All chaos in the world can be traced back to these three doors.
Covenants grant spirits legal access to our lives and families and cannot simply be cast away. The spirits afflicting our families have entered through covenants established by our forefathers, who sought their assistance in battles, often sacrificing their descendants in return, as referenced in Matthew 12:29.
Both local and geographical covenants have adversely affected us. My prayer through this message is to help you access a higher authority that will permanently break these covenants.
Those unaffected by them have tapped into higher dimensions that negate their influence.
I invite everyone to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is Lord and you will be saved. May God bless you all and this beautiful nation of Zimbabwe. Amen.
