Thuthani’s death great loss to nation — Sekeramayi

In an interview at a church service at a local funeral parlour yesterday, Minister of State for National Security Sydney Sekeramayi said Cde Thuthani was one of the longest serving members of the organisation. He said

Cde Thuthani had excelled in every assignment she was given.
“In the external branch she was co-ordinating relations with sister organisations within and outside Sadc. She was a very hardworking woman who would always give analysis and true picture of the situation she would have seen than some people who may want to use superlatives instead of just saying what they would have seen,” he said.

Minister Sekeramayi said he was encouraged by the fact that when she was being promoted she was training her juniors to emulate her.
Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo described Cde Thuthani as a very courageous and committed woman. “We hope that other women will be challenged to emulate her good works considering that she fought for this country to be what it is today.

“She is a woman who knew where the nation came from because she liberated it,” he said.
Zanu-PF chairman for Harare province, Cde Amos Midzi said the country had lost a great woman who had fought tirelessly to liberate the country.

He said Cde Thuthani had left a mark because of her contribution to the liberation of Zimbabwe.
Cde Thuthani died on Wednesday morning at West End Hospital after a short illness.

She was the highest ranking woman officer in the Central Intelligence Organisation.
She was born on July 31 1954 in Marondera.
She is survived by two children.
