HIGH-tempo attacking football continues to be the order of the day in the ProBhora League with youth exuberance and talent combining to make it a riveting maiden season, just four match-days on.
Legends Football Academy lead a quartet of early pacesetters who include Aces Youth Soccer Academy, third-placed Athletes Sphere and Heritage Oviedo.
Only goal difference separates the leading duo of Legends, Aces who are tied on 10 points.
Athletes Sphere are third with seven points while Oviedo are fourth and just a point behind them.
Legends captain Nixon Mandaza has been leading from the front for his team.
Mandaza, a winger has found the target nine times to become the early pacesetter in the race for this vibrant junior football league’s Golden Boot award.
The ProBhora matches are being staged at Heritage School in Harare and the games are beamed on SportsAi.
Mandaza knows he has to keep scoring as there is intense pressure from the chasing of Athletes Sphere Villarreal’s central striker Elton Chikoto who has scored seven goals.
Chikoto has also hogged the limelight by scoring two hat-tricks in the four matchdays
Also knocking on the door for the Golden Boot gong is the trio of electric left winger Denzel Chakaza who has six goals, AYSA’s Tanatswa Mashoko with 5 goals, Nenyasha Pini (TOTAL) with five and Andrew Chigwere (HRO) who has four.
The attacking flair of the teams in the ProBhora League will no doubt give junior national teams’ selectors plenty to ponder on.
From the quality of football, we are seeing from the academy teams we are left with two questions.
The eight academies will be back into battles from 10am this morning.
Legends will be hoping to keep their lead when they cash against Heritage Real Oviedo.
Aces also have their unbeaten run to protect when they square off against Scorpions Soccer Schools while BN Academy meet Total and Real Saints take on Athletes Sphere.
