LONDON. – Manny Pacquiao has CONFIRMED talks are under way for a stunning rematch against Floyd Mayweather.
Netflix – boxing’s newest broadcasting powerhouse – are leading negotiations for a sequel over a DECADE in the making. Pacquiao revealed discussions are ongoing – and threw down the gauntlet to Mayweather.
He told SunSport in Manila: “As long as Floyd will come back. I’m active in boxing, it’s possible.
“There is talk. Like I said, I’m happy to start talking about, discussing about a possible rematch with Floyd.
“Of course, there’s a good chance to have a rematch because I’m still active – it’s only if he will come back that’s possible.”
Mayweather settled years of debate with his 2015 points win over Pacquiao which smashed all boxing records. Over £500MILLION was made from their 4.4million US pay-per-view sales alone with a further £55m banked in ticket sales.
But despite the mind-boggling revenue – a rematch failed to materialise – although always refusing to go away.
Pacquiao claimed he tore his rotator cuff in sparring just a month before boxing’s most lucrative fight and was denied anti-inflammatory shots. As the agonising ten year wait for redemption carries on, Pacquiao said: “I’ve been motivated since after the fight.
“After the operation, I was OK to get back in the ring and fight again. Right now, God is good and giving me strength and good health to continue my career as a boxer.” – The Sun
