TINO BENZA could be on the verge of clinching a deal in Europe after a scouting agency called him back to England.

Benza has been put in the oven for one more time with an array of top coaches fine-tuning him for possible transfer.

The Herentals skipper, who switched from centre-forward to the wing this season, was first invited to England for the same programme in July and spent three weeks training.

He showed some good glimpses which have now prompted the agency to sign him up and invite him back for further logistics and possible move.

That means the 2022 and 2023 PSL People’s Choice award winner might miss the remainder of the current season.

The talented midfielder travelled to England two weeks ago for assessments with a renowned agency consultancy, which identifies suitable players for European clubs.

Benza’s outstanding displays have reportedly caught the attention of multiple clubs, potentially securing a move abroad.

Before his trip to England, he had recorded a goal and seven assists.

The credit partly goes to his uncle and coach, Paul Benza, who strategically shifted him to a wide position, diverging from his traditional target man role.

Benza said he is enjoying the challenge.

“It’s been a good challenge for me, being in a different environment with high competition and expectations.

Initially, it was tough, but I’m starting to enjoy the challenge and new experience.”

Benza acknowledged the difficulties of breaking into European teams but expressed optimism.

“Everything looks promising at the moment. I’m grasping what’s required to succeed in Europe.”

While Herentals fans anxiously await Benza’s potential return, his uncle and coach, Paul, remain supportive.

“Tino’s growth has been impressive. We’re proud of him, and this opportunity is well deserved.

“We are just expecting the best from him because the club is still searching for that first player who will make a foreign breakthrough,” said Paul.

As Benza’s European dreams unfold, Herentals prepares for life without their influential captain.

The team’s remaining fixtures will test their depth and resilience.

Benza’s potential departure would follow a growing trend of Zimbabwean talent seeking international opportunities.

Many will watch his progress closely, eager to see if he becomes the next Zimbabwean player to make a significant impact.
