Marbel Tawenga was crowned first princess and Rutendo Hurekure was voted the second princess.
Tiwaringe was obviously ecstatic about her accomplishments.
“I have competed in many pageants and I am happy that I won the prize. I am grateful to the organisers for giving us the opportunity to showcase our talent and I must say there was no hassle in getting the prizes,” said Tiwaringe.
The former Face of Chitungwiza 2011 and Miss Harare finalist said she was hoping to do well in Zambia.
“I have always wanted to represent my country and I want to do my best and raise the country’s flag high,” she said.
For her effort, Tiwaringa walked away with an Edgars shopping voucher, pocket money to spend in Zambia, shoes, jewellery, hairdos and a whole lot more.
Evelyn Gondo represented Zimbabwe at last year’s event but faltered at the grand stage.
Tanzania’s Nelly Kamwelo won the Miss Southern Africa International 2011.
Zambia’s Persivia Chimfembwe Mulenga and Namibia’s Paulina Muloho were crowned Miss SAI first and second princesses.
For being crowned Miss SAI, Kamwelo won herself a trip to the Seychelles and Lower Zambezi and a tour of the Bumi Hills courtesy of Seychelles Tourism, Bumi Hills Safari Lodge and Pro Flight.
She was also the ambassador of breast and cervical cancer during her reign.
Miss Southern Africa is an international event that celebrates the people of Southern Africa, its cultures, the colourful and vibrant fashion of its many ethnic groups, its expressive and emotive music and the beautiful talents of its women.
