Toendepi A took the lead in the first half and they went into the breather leading 2-1.
But Chambara A came back a rejuvenated side in the second half and secured a goal which forced the teams to go into extra -time.
But Toendepi prevailed and won the tourney, a floating trophy, US$750 cash, gold medals and a soccer ball while Chambara A walked away with US$500, silver medals and a soccer ball.
Seruwe, who were supposed to take part in the third and fourth place play-off against Dombwe, failed to turn up and were replaced by Kaguvi., who lost 0-1.
In netball. the title went to Chikwangwadza who beat Chambara B 17-5.
Chikwangwadza walked away with a floating trophy, USS$750, gold medals and a ball for coming first and Chambara B pocketed US$500,silver medals and a ball.
Kaguvi defeated Dombwe 10-7 in the third and fourth play-off.
All the participating teams won soccer and netball balls for their efforts and officials for both disciplines got medals.
Administrator for Chegutu East constituency, Smart Zulu, said in a press statement, said they are grateful for Shamu’s support.
“I would want to thank Cde Webster Shamu for bringing a rare opportunity to celebrate independence in style at our area by bringing one of Zimbabwe’s music giant, Sulumani Chimbetu,” said Zulu.
Dexter Nduna, managing director of Badon Enterprises, pledged to continue supporting the tournament.
“I will continue to sponsor the trophy as I was impressed by the level of the administration and talent exhibited during the finals of both soccer and netball,” said Nduna.
