TOM’S DINER WINS ZIMBABWE CHALLENGE

TOM’S DINER was crowned Zimbabwe Challenge champion after he emerged victorious at the first race of the year at Borrowdale Park and Racecourse at the weekend.

Victorious jockey, Philasande Mxoli took his career wins to 242 as the pilot.

Tom’s Diner was ahead of Guerra by 0.75 lengths to pocket US$2000 first price as the runner-up walked home US1000 rich.

Guerra is from the Bridget Stido stable and it had Jarryd Penny on the irons.

Third place went to Action Zone who had Mathew Thackeray as the jockey managed to pocket US$600 as Jager Moon completed the places on position four.

The Zimbabwe Challenge was the future race in the first race meeting of the year 2026 and had 12 runners who took to the starting stalls.

The other races saw Pocket Watch winning race five the Partnership Allowance Plate as Zafar won the Syndicate Merit rated 80 handicap.

It was a good day in office for Thackeray who won three races on the day.
