Tourism Ministry commends Madam Boss for promoting culture

Comedian, Madam Boss (Tyla Chikocho) has been commended by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry for her commitment to promoting Zimbabwean culture.

This recognition comes after she represented the country at the recently held BET Awards in Los Angeles, USA, wearing a designer blue dress featuring details of the National Dress Fabric.

The Ministry praised her on their social media pages, stating that Madam Boss’s promotion of the National Fabric on an international level demonstrates her appreciation and respect for diverse cultures.

“By showcasing Zimbabwean National Fabric at such a prominent international event, Madam Boss highlights the beauty and significance of Zimbabwean culture to a global audience. This promotes cultural diversity and breaks stereotypes, fostering a more inclusive global community.

“Through her efforts, Madam Boss educated viewers about Zimbabwean tourism, traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage. This not only raises awareness but also encourages appreciation and respect for diverse cultures,” stated the post.

The Ministry further mentioned that Madam Boss’s initiative will boost tourism to Zimbabwe.

“Madam Boss’s initiative will boost tourism to Zimbabwe. By capturing the interest of international viewers at the BET Awards, she promoted Zimbabwe as a destination rich in cultural experiences and traditions. This can attract tourists who are eager to explore and engage with Zimbabwean culture first-hand.

“Thank you Madam Boss for promoting Brand Zimbabwe and for being a proud Zimbabwean wherever you go.”

Madam Boss is expected in the country on Thursday where a hero’s welcome has been arranged at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare.

Her welcome reception has been set for 5:45pm, with transport arrangements being made for fans who wish to attend.

Meanwhile, a welcome dinner has also been arranged for her on Friday at a popular restaurant in the capital where those in attendance will part with nothing less than $100 for a seat.
