A TRAGIC end to a day on duty!
Constable Amanda Katanha, a dedicated officer stationed at Mazowe, lost her life in a freak road accident just minutes after signing off from deployment.

The fatal incident occurred around 6:40PM on 12 April 2025, along the 17km peg of the Mazowe-Centenary Road. According to a police statement on X, Constable Katanha had been walking along the extreme side of the road with two fellow officers after duty at
Dowkins Farm in Concession when tragedy struck.

A speeding Toyota Probox, registration number AGP 8475, carrying three passengers, ploughed into the trio—fatally hitting Katanha and leaving the nation mourning one of its own.
Details surrounding the incident are still under investigation, but sources say the impact was so severe that emergency services could do nothing to save her life.
