Trauma Centre bosses’ trial date set

Sanford, Gelfand Clinic manager Paul Stevenson and individuals Peter Annesley and Mavis Mushonga, were last Friday summoned to appear at the Harare magistrate court to face trial over the fraud and theft allegations.
The four accused were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission between December 2011 and February 2012. Other alleged accomplices are still at large.
The State alleges that Sanford who did not have a link with  Dr Vivek Solanki was hired by Andrew Groves, the British director of AMI to work with a former director Mushonga at Autoband Investments trading as Trauma Centre to defraud the Company.
During the period from July 2010 to September last year, Sanford with his alleged accomplices Mushonga and Stevenson wrote a fraudulent letter purporting that Dr Solanki’s manager and solesignatory, Zarina Dudhia had resigned from the company and that there was a board resolution to that effect.
