Trio in court for armed robbery

Charemera Kandoka (25), Trynos Muteerwa (24) and George Tauro (28) reportedly ambushed residents at night, stealing up to US$152, cooking oil, shoes and other goods.
They pleaded not guilty to four counts of armed robbery charges when they appeared before Harare magistrate Mr William Bhila who remanded them in custody to Thursday this week.
Prosecutor Mr Zivanayi Makwanya alleges that on May 25 this year, Jeremiah Mandisodza, a vendor, was selling cooking oil at Overspill Shopping Centre when he fell victim to the gang. It is alleged eight men suddenly appeared and started punching and kicking him. They stole six litres of cooking oil and US$40 from Mandisodza.
