The trio is believed to be part of a gang that was stealing tyres, rims, wheel spanners, jacks and batteries between April and last week.
They would break into the yards at night and steal car parts from parked vehicles and in most cases leave the cars balancing on bricks.
They would sell the loot, some of which was recovered by police.
Frank Magaso (27), Two Mdodoli (28), both of 1 Baron Road in Queens Park West, and Nhamo Riyacha (31), of 8091 Nkulumane 12, were yesterday arraigned before Miss Marilyn Mutshina sitting at the Bulawayo magistrates’ court to answer to 11 counts of theft from motor vehicles.
They were not formally charged and was remanded in custody to 28 August for trial.
It is alleged that on 3 April Magaso and Mdodoli went to Number 32 Newman’s Road in Queens Park West at about 9pm.
Mr Derick Adrian had parked his car in the yard before retiring to bed and the two suspects allegedly stole a spare wheel before disappearing into the night.
On the second count, the two allegedly went to 14 Raylton Road in the same suburb on 12 May and stole one tyre and a battery belonging to Mr James Manatse.
On 29 June, Magaso allegedly teamed up with Riyacha and proceeded to No 15 Investon Road, Queens Park, where they stole a jack, spare wheel, wheel spanners and a toolbox belonging to Mr Zagwa Banda.
Three days later, the two men allegedly broke into the yard of Mr Tinotenda Goniwa and stole a car radio, speakers, remote control, jack, wheel spanners and a reflective vest, the court heard.
Magaso and Riyacha then allegedly proceeded to Mr Admire Matindike’s house on 22 July and stole a spare wheel.
On four other occasions the two men allegedly went around the suburb where they stole different kinds of car parts especially tyres. They would allegedly leave the cars balanced on bricks.
On two other occasions, Mdodoli allegedly stole five tryes from two different houses in Sauerstown and sold the loot.
Police received a tip-off on 17 August that the three men were some of the suspected criminals and arrested them.
The total value of stolen property was $3 405 and part of it was recovered.
