ARSENAL are sweating on a TRIPLE injury blow after three players quit England’s camp.
The FA confirmed Noni Madueke will return to Arsenal.
Like Adam Wharton who will head back to Crystal Palace, Madueke picked up a knock during the 1-1 draw with Uruguay on Friday night.
And the pair have been allowed to depart early from Thomas Tuchel‘s final meet-up before the World Cup.
Madueke will be joined back at Arsenal’s London Colney HQ base with key Gunners and England pair Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
England posted videos of the pair arriving in camp on Saturday morning.
Rice trained with the team — and James Maddison – at the Tottenham training ground.
But both Rice and Saka reported problems so will not feature in the Three Lions’ second game against Japan.
Instead, the superstar duo are both heading back across North London to their title-chasing club for further medical assessments.
Madueke, who started the game with a bandage on his left wrist, left Wembley in a knee brace after limping off before half-time.
And that will come as worrying news for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who already has Mikel Merino, Eberechi Eze, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard all in the treatment room.
The Gunners boss is desperate to return to winning ways after the international break – and maintain their quest for the treble.
Arsenal lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City before the pause from club football.
Their first game back is the FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton next Saturday before the first leg against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal on the Tuesday.
They do not return to Premier League action, where they sit nine points clear at the top with seven games to go, until hosting Bournemouth on April 11. —The Sun
