Tripple T, Iyasa partner to produce video

The video is for the song titled Sesiphongwenzenje, from Tripple T’s debut offering titled We own it. The group’s song and the video are in celebration of the beauty and the bio-diversity of the African continent.

In an interview recently, group member Sithabile Thabie Ncube said they decided to work with Iyasa because the group shared the same vision as theirs.

“The song is about celebrating the beauty of Africa and also basically welcoming people from outside the continent. That is the reason we made the song with Iyasa because we believe we share a similar vision,” she said.

Sithabile said the video would be about showing how things are really done in Africa and not how it is constantly portrayed by media.

“The video is really about showing the real Africa and how things are really done this side. It is also correcting the misconceptions that people might have about the continent,” she said.

Sithabile spoke very highly of the artistic acumen of Nkululeko Dube, the director of the video, saying he understood what the group wanted to do with their video and had been excellent throughout the whole process.

“Working with Nkululeko was definitely an honour for us. He is an intelligent and brave man who understands the arts and his directorship during the making of the video was out of this world,” she said.

Another group member Thembisile Ncube said working with Iyasa had been an eye opening experience as they learnt a number of things.

“Working with such an experienced and esteemed group was great for us because we got an insight into the arts. This was an experience that we will treasure,” she said.

Thembisile said the group was now focusing on its future and the video was expected to be released in the next few weeks.
