Post Reporter

THE Meteorological Services Department (MSD) is keeping track of Tropical Storm Faida’s trajectory to assess its potential impact on Zimbabwe’s weather patterns after the weather phenomenon made a landfall in northern Madagascar.

With reports indicating that the moderate storm is projected to be in the neighbouring Mozambique channel by end of this week, the eastern parts of Zimbabwe are expected to receive heavy rains.

In a statement, the weather forecaster said: “The MSD is monitoring Moderate Tropical Storm Faida, which has made a landfall in the northern parts of Madagascar.”

The MSD forecasts rainfall to return starting Saturday following a dry spell in most parts of the country over the past days.
