Truck crash spills beer on Chinhoyi-Chegutu Highway

A 30-tonne truck loaded with Chibuku opaque beer was involved in an accident at the 10 km peg along the Chinhoyi-Chegutu Highway today, resulting in a stampede for crates of beer that were strewn all over the tarmac.

By 1 pm, the scene had become chaotic as motorists and passersby joined in looting the beer near Swanaepol Farm.

It was not immediately clear how the accident happened but there were no fatalities.

The driver and crew sustained minor injuries.
