A COLLABORATION between gospel star Tatenda Mahachi and icon Oliver Mtukudzi – Ndisiye – is set to soothe the hearts of many if the visuals of the song produced by Vusa Blaqs are anything to go by.
The award-winning videographer keeps breaking new ground every month with the release of quality music videos. Yesterday, Mahachi’s video was released on the artiste’s YouTube channel.
Mahachi said he penned the song with Tuku adding that working with the icon was humbling for him. The track was released earlier this year.
“I’m so humbled to have worked with a music legend on this track Ndisiye which simply means ‘leave me’. It’s good to do a song together and complete it with a video.
“What makes it more special is that this is Tuku’s first music video that he has recorded with a local artiste this year. I’m so happy that it’s finally out and hope everyone will get a chance to watch it on my YouTube channel,” said Mahachi.
He said he learnt a lot during the time they spent in studio with Mtukudzi because of his wealth of wisdom.
“Dr Mtukudzi is so humble, I felt like I was working with a friend because he’s an open person who welcomes and listens to ideas from others.”
He said the video has been sent to international music stations such as Trace Africa, SABC, Zambezi Magic and 1 Gospel for consideration for airplay.
With this latest partnership, Mahachi adds another feather to his cap of collaborations with popular musicians after having worked with Dudu Manhenga, Shingisai Suluma, Dino Mudondo, Mechanic Manyeruke, late Sifiso Ncwane (SA), Isaac Simpsons (USA) and Prudence Katomeni among many others.
