DRAMA gripped Plumtree’s Lakeview Dingumuzi suburb this afternoon after a male adult was found trapped inside a water drainage tunnel — sparking panic and disbelief among residents!
The man, believed to be mentally challenged, was spotted by eagle-eyed locals who had seen him wandering the area shivering from the cold just the day before.

When he suddenly vanished, no one imagined he had taken shelter in the narrow underground tunnel — until today’s shocking discovery.
“He was barely moving but his heart was still beating strong,” said one of the rescuers. “We didn’t waste time — we had to get him out!”

Braving the filth and dark confines of the tunnel, brave residents pulled the man to safety in a dramatic scene that drew a crowd of onlookers and cheers of relief.
“It’s a miracle he survived,” said another witness. “We thought we were pulling out a body!”

Though dazed and clearly distressed, the man was alive and breathing, thanks to the quick response of concerned residents.
Authorities are now being urged to assist the man and investigate how he ended up in such a desperate state.
