Tuskers, Eagles in tricky encounter

Tuskers successfully defend the Castle Logan Cup with a match to spare against MidWest Rhinos.
Eagles drew their last Castle Logan Cup match against MidWest Rhinos which was a big blow as Tuskers clobbered Southern Rocks by 10 wickets.
The result saw the Harare club losing the top spot to Tuskers.
Eagles’ manager Joseph Madyembera was confident that his team would upset Tuskers.
“We will be out in full force to win our game against Tuskers. We need a positive result,” said Madyembera in a statement.
Eagles are without Stuart Matsikenyeri, Tatenda Taibu, Regis Chakabva, Forster Mutizwa and Kyle Jarvis who are on tour with the national team in New Zealand
Tuskers coach Dave Houghton retained all the players who beat Southern Rocks in a Castle Logan Cup encounter a fortnight ago for today’s game.
It is a full strength team and Eagles should brace themselves for a tough game.
Houghton had rested some of his regular first team players who include seamer Njabulo “Papa” Ncube, Briton Paul Houghton and Sean Ervine for Saturday’s One-Day game against Eagles at Queens Sports Club.
With Tuskers having a strong line up, it will be difficult for the Harare-based team to beat the defending champions who will be playing in front of their home supporters.
Keegan Meth is the only Tuskers player on national duty.
Some of the regular players like all-rounders Gavin Ewing and Keith Dabengwa, hard-hitting batsman Charles Coventry, wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Ngulube, Craig Ervine and pace bowler Glen Querl are expected to lead Tuskers to glory.
