Log pacesetters Highlanders (m) continued in their trailblazing form as they dispatched Kings 69-57 in a mouth- watering all Bulawayo clash.
Michael Zvoushe’s head-to-head clash with Giants’ Garth Hussey was top class action which will be talked of in the city of Gweru for weeks to come as Zvoushe came out tops in the clash with 32 points whilst Hussey had 27.
Not to be outdone were Unicorns (m) who fully utilised their home advantage and kept the heat on Bosso as they consolidated their second place in the log by trampling Giants 86-43.
Unicorns’ duo of Tatenda Tswatswa and player coach Walter Mabhena were a formidable combination who amassed 42 points between them.
Meanwhile, the battle-hardened women of Giants taught the greenhorns of Lakers a lesson when they beat them 56-46 despite Giants finishing with four players in the fourth quarter after the duo of Geraldine Chibonda and Sheila Roncavelle were fouled out.
The four Giants players however managed to beat Lakers 16-9 in the last quarter in a match which pitted youth against experience.
Highlanders (w) also emulated their male counterparts’ display as they thrashed a hapless Steelers side by 42-16.
Nust and MSU were walked over as both teams failed to show up for their all university showdown.
On Friday Oilers beat (m) beat Sixers by 58-52 whilst Giants (m) trampled ALCC by 59-39.
