ZIFA Northern Region Division One side Chegutu Pirates coach Arthur Tutani says he is not going to be carried away by their maiden win against log leaders Golden Valley. Tutani’s youthful side finally remembered how to win as they inflicted the first defeat on the gold miners through a solitary strike by Gift Mwinga in the 41st minute.
Tutani is a Division One specialist coach and shifted base at the beginning of the season to Chegutu Pirates, where he has run into a number of challenges.
He said he is fighting to survive relegation and would not want to put his boys under pressure.
“I only have three senior players with Division One experience and to continue talking about our win at Golden Valley will make the players complacent,’’ he said.
“We need to survive relegation and since its my first season here we will learn and challenge for honours from next season. We have since shifted focus and we are now looking forward to our next match against DZ Evangel, who also have a fairly young side as an academy.
“We hope our supporters will come in their numbers as usual to back us like what they did at Rimuka.”
The Pirates had not won in the first seven games after managing six draws and a single loss.
