Two die in kombi and bus head-on collision along Bulawayo-Gwanda Road

TWO people have died while five others were injured when a kombi they were travelling in collided with a bus.


Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson confirmed the incident which occurred last night 16km outside Gwanda Town along the Bulawayo-Gwanda Road. She said the bus which was on its way to Gwanda from  Bulawayo was travelling behind a Nissan Liberty when the driver suddenly hit the emergency brakes to avoid hitting donkeys.


The driver of the bus in a bid to avoid bumping into the Nissan Liberty then encroached onto the lane of oncoming vehicles and collided with the kombi which was on its way to Bulawayo from Gwanda.
“I can confirm that we recorded a fatal road accident where two people who are female died. A bus which was on its ways to Gwanda tried to avoid smashing into another vehicle which was infront and encroached into the other lane and collided with a kombi. Two people who were in the kombi died while five others were injured,” she said.(chronicle)
