Tycoon hit by blunt object — Post-mortem

was conducted at Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary yesterday. Sources close to the investigations yesterday said Bank was hit twice on the back of the head with a blunt object before he was covered with a plastic sack.

The plastic sack was meant to suffocate him since he was unconscious.

The motive behind the murder is still not known, although police have ruled out armed robbery since some of the valuables and an expensive Rolex watch were found in his car.

It is believed that he had cash with him, but it was not located.
Investigations are still in progress and detectives from the CID Homicide section are handling the matter.

Bank, who had gone missing since Thursday last week, was found dead in his parked car near the intersection of Herbert Chitepo Avenue and Mazowe Street.
His body was found stashed in his car’s boot after flies were seen swarming the Toyota Corolla Sedan by passers-by.
