MDC-T councillor on robbery charge

Mariga charged with assault and robbery.
He denied the charges and was remanded in custody to July 23 for trial.

Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringani told the court that on July 5 this year at  Paramount Nite Club (Chikwanha) in Chitungwiza, Kazuru was with his brother when he met  Tapiwa Chodokufa (32), a patron, on the doorway going to buy some airtime.
The court heard that Kazuru blocked Chodokufa from going outside and accused him of being part of the gang that assaulted him before.

He went on to harass Chodokufa and assaulted him in the face with an unknown object.
Chodokufa sustained a deep cut on the forehead.

Kazuru allegedly took US$180 from Chodokufa.
