Ugly scenes mar Oskido gig

The police started beating people   even those who were far from the scene   and some of them were heard insulting revellers.
The small up-market lounge could not accommodate everyone and many had to be turned away.
Only those who had bought     advance tickets were allowed to enter   while those who did not had to listen from outside.

Despite the melee outside, the show     inside went on smoothly and just after midnight Oskido walked in and started off with a new release from his stable Kalawa Jazmee.
It started off with Oskido reciting a Zulu poem before playing the song  which talks about a beautiful woman.
Revellers sang along to the lyrics, Wamuhle ntombazana awubhek’ ukuth’ ungenzani.

About five songs later he called for   a 30-minute break leaving local DJs to handle business.

They played mostly hip-hop music before the maestro came back on stage more rejuvenated as his songs kept people on their feet.
He said although he played in Swaziland last year on Christmas Day, the Bulawayo crowd was the most interactive and promised to come back.
Songs that he played include Stingray, Ngu X ongasolveki, Jezebel instrumental, Hlokoloza , Zahara’s remixed Le Ngoma and the hit Banane Mavoko.
