UK-BASED social worker, Tich Mutodi, says his heart bleeds for people suffering from liver and ulcer complications.
Mutodi has dropped two singles — Zvakaramba Mwana Wamai Vangu and Teerera Katatu — honouring his late brother Nicky, who was a well-known teacher in Bikita.
“The two songs are dedicated to my younger brother Nicky, who passed away on 20 March 2024, after not feeling well for three months.
“He struggled with an ulcer, and this affected his liver.
“Nicky was a high school teacher in Bikita and he was also a businessman running our family business,” he said.
Mutodi, who has recorded several singles and albums, added:
“He was second in command in terms of running family affairs.
“He represented me in all aspects of family functions and community engagement.
“We planned almost everything together despite the distance between us.
“In tough times, we used to share a lot, and that brought some relief. Since we lost our mother in 2020, we even became closer as we got to deal with life without our parents.”
Mutodi said Nicky died before fulfilling their plans.
“My last conversation with him was about my wish for him to resign from teaching, if he had recovered, so that he could concentrate on running the family business.
“He had all the hopes for recovery but sadly passed away a few hours after our conversation.
“This music project is to honour my late brother. I composed the songs while he was still ill, hoping he would recover.
“I later changed some lyrics after his passing on to Zvakaramba.”
