The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) will see business and entertainment on a collision course as Bulawayo comedy merchants, Umahlekisa Comedy Club will première Trade Fair Laughs at a venue yet to be announced.
The Trade Fair Laughs comedy show will coincide with Umahlekisa’s ninth anniversary in the comedy business where a lot of diverse content is set to be dished out.
The country’s prime trade event will run from April 26 to 30 under the theme: “Rethink, Reimagine, and Reinvent Value Chains for Economic Development”.
Umahlekisa Comedy Club director Ntando Van Moyo said the show will be one to look out for as the line-up features some of the country’s sought-after comedians.
“Umahlekisa is known for leaving crowds in stitches and the trend will continue so people can expect a good show. The line-up consists of award-winning personnel who will bring to the table, a diverse kind of comedy that cuts across different genres. We have Ckanyiso Dat Guy from Harare, Carl Joshua Ncube, Maroosh and the event will be hosted by Mollet Ndebele,” said Moyo.
Moyo who is also billed to perform said since the comedy club will be celebrating nine years in the game, they will host a roast for a prominent Bulawayo arts figure next week Saturday to spice things up.
“On the 30th of April, we’ll roast a prominent Bulawayo arts figure. It’s going to be a surprise. In May, we’re going to have a docu-series that will showcase what we’ve done over the years as a way of celebrating our nine years in the comedy industry.”
Carl Joshua Ncube, known for his Big Announcement show expressed his readiness for the show.
