Umguza holds Grooming Young Talent tournament

MAHLOTHOVA Primary School in Umguza’s Ward 9 won the Grooming Young Talent soccer and netball tournaments sponsored by councillor Sikhanyisiwe Mpofu on Friday. The games were played at Mathonisa primary school and four teams took part.In soccer Mahlothova beat Mathonisa 3-2 in one of the games. Crossby beat Sikhanyiso 3-2 in the other.
Mathonisa were too strong for Sikhanyiso whom they beat 4-0.

In the final match Mahlothova beat Crossby 2-0.
Sikhanyiso were number four at the end of the day with Mathonisa third and Crossby second.

In netball Mahlothova were pitted against Sikhanyiso in the first game. Mahlothova won 7-2   and the highest scorer was Caroline Sibanda, who is a good shooter and she scored five in that match.

In the final match Mahlothova beat Mathonisa 8-0 and Sibanda scored most of the points.
After the matches Sibanda said she was happy to have scored many points for her school.

All the teams received trophies and prize money.

Netball: Mahlothova 7, Sikhanyiso 2; Crossby 0, Mathonisa 7; Sikhanyiso 4, Crossby 2;  Mathonisa 0, Mahlothova 8.
