AN 18-YEAR-OLD Zimunya man has appeared in court for attempting to rape his three-year-old niece.
Archford Mutore ran out of luck after he was caught naked before raping her.
Mutore appeared before Mutare magistrate Ms Prisca Manhibi for contravening Section 189 as read with Section 65 (4) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23 “Attempted rape”.
It is alleged that on September 19, Mutore from Matiengana Village in Chief Zimunya’s, area thought that the victim’s grandmother was not at home and called the juvenile into his room.
The grandmother opened the door before he could rape her.
The accused immediately wore his trousers and bolted out of the house.
He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to October 5.
