Unicorns tops Basketball league

Walter Mabhena top scored for Unicorns with 20 points while Charles Tshuma contributed 17 points for Giants. Highlanders remained unbeaten when they overpowered ZB Titans 91-36 with Michael Zvoushe contributing 29 points. In other matches Stars beat Kings 68-60 with Thembani Msipa scoring 30 points for Stars.

Unicorns are topping the log standings with 19 points, followed by Highlanders on 18 while Southern Mavericks are sitting on third position with 16. Giants are in fourth position with 14 points and Stars, ZB Titans, Kings and Oilers complete the bottom four. Bottom team Stars and pacesetters Unicorns are separated by seven points

In the women’s league Lakers continued with their dominance when they beat Stars 62-35 with Cleo Mhanda in top form scoring 25 points. Highlanders overcame Giants 47-42 in a closely contested match and they now trail Lakers by three points. Lakers top the log with 14 points while Highlanders lie in second position with 11.

Meanwhile, according to a report received from the Bulawayo Basketball Association, Abundant Life Christian Church (ALCC) have disbanded while Milton Development have forfeited more than two matches and according to league rules they have been excluded from the league.
