UNIVERSITY STUDENT REPRESENTS ZIM AT MISS EARTH

MANICALAND State University student, Courtney Tadiwanashe Jongwe (22), is representing Zimbabwe at the Miss Earth 2023 pageant in Vietnam.

The Chemical and Processing Engineering student is also a TV presenter and commercial advertising model.

The 23rd edition grand finals of Miss Earth are scheduled for December 22 at Van Phuc City.

Jongwe’s advocacy focuses on Climate Action, the 13th Sustainable Development Goal of the UN.

“Growing up in beautiful Zimbabwe, I witnessed the devastating impact of plastic pollution.

“I feel very honored to be the new Miss Earth Zimbabwe. I have been afforded an opportunity to be a force for good with regards to environmental conservation.

“l will definitely use this platform to promote sustainable steps towards climate action, ensuring that everyone is on board, for collectively we can be the change we want to see,” she said in her Miss Earth video.

Jongwe succeeded Sakhile Dube, who finished in the Top 8 of Miss Earth 2022.
