Unpacking the essence of dominion

“And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26-28).

When you are studying the word of God you do not just get to understand God, but yourself as well. When God had created so many other things in the Book of Genesis, He got to a point where He decided to create another creature, which resembles Him.

The creature was supposed to be formed in His own image and it was supposed to have dominion and it had to subdue the earth. God wanted that creature to rein and rule over every other creeping thing on the face of the earth. It was out of the dust of the ground that God formed man; that is how all of us were created by God. Man then became a construction project that God did.

When God created us, we were His own personal project. Before He formed and created us, He drew a plan that was exactly as what He looks like. You have to understand that there was a sketch God did before He formed you. In his mind He wanted you to look exactly like Him in terms of image, which is in terms of appearance.

God wanted the rest of creation to look at man as a finished product and see the image of God. Know that you look like God in terms of your appearance.Above that, God chose to impart His likeness into you; He did not just want you to look like Him, but He also gave you the grace to act like Him.

You were given the ability to perform like God. So, if God is into construction and He constructed you according to His own image and He then gave you His own likeness, which is His abilities, you are supposed to build like your Father. You are a designer by nature. God was in a building project when He created man and the building project was not a spiritual project but a physical one.

It was a spiritual God who was doing it; as spiritual as God is, He was able to build a mansion called a human being which is physical. God placed man on earth and empowered him to appear like Him and do like Him. In terms of image, power and authority, man had to be like God. The assignment and agenda given to man after he was created is to multiply, subdue and fill the earth.

Most Christians have been diverted from that mandate and they convinced themselves that their greatest mission on earth is to try and fill heaven. As Christians we do everything to bring many souls to God so that we can fill heaven. When God created you He wanted you to multiply on earth, not in heaven; He wanted you to subdue earth, not heaven; He wanted you to fill up earth, not heaven.

Your mission from God is to occupy and subdue this planet; you have to multiply yourself on this planet. You are supposed to dominate on this planet. You are supposed to expand, extend and enlarge yourself by establishing something tangible and physical on this planet earth; you do not achieve that by going to heaven.

As a Christian, your dominion is not in heaven, it is supposed to be exercised down here on earth. God wants you to act like Himself on earth even in terms of construction. God constructed you and gave you His own abilities so that you can also construct something according to your own pattern and design. If you were formed by God and given the same grace that He has, you have the same ability that God has to form something out of the dust of the earth.

It should be easy for you as a child of God to move around creating things because the likeness of God in you can help you to achieve that. That divine power in you has to be activated so that you can be able to make something according to your own pattern and design. You really need to take over and subdue this planet; that is why God put you on this planet.

It was God Himself who pronounced the blessing of multiplication over man; if you come across any message that opposes multiplication it is not from God. God Himself promoted the multiplication of man on earth. Your multiplication on earth is a blessing from God.

Anything to do with you has to multiply on earth. God never ordained you to remain in one place but to multiply and subdue. Things can start small but they should grow. God Himself does not take pleasure in things that do not multiply.

He is offended by people that do not multiply and enlarge themselves. I believe that when you are righteous and you have the grace of God upon your life, there is nothing evil about building a house for each of your children. When you start building projects and people speak against you, remind them that you have the likeness of your Father in heaven.

This earth was built by our heavenly Father with His own hands; this earth is not a sin. If you were created in the likeness of God you should also build like Him. One of the most evil things I have observed on this earth that remains evil even if you get born again is being a lodger. If I am wrong, I would like a lodger to write a book and explain the goodness of being a lodger.

No matter how happy you can be but living in a house you know does not belong to you is very painful. We cannot really talk about dominion when you are still living on someone else’s property; dominion is having your own place where you know you belong. You should never enjoy life from a rented property, you can be happy, but continue reminding yourself that the place is not your own.

You should always have this burden of having your own property.
