Unregistered duo still at Gamecocks

NEVER let a stumble in the road be the end of the journey!

The above words are certainly ringing true in the ears of Chicken Inn duo of Guide Goddard (ABOVE) and David Temwanjira amid revelations by the clubas chairman Lifa Ncube that despite not being registered for the first half of the 2016 season, the two players are training with the rest of Gamecocks squad.

a?Guide and Temwanjira were not registered for the first half of the season. They have running contracts with the club and we are happy they are training with the rest of the squad. It shows a lot of determination from them and we hope to register them when the second transfer window opens on 1 July,a? said Ncube.

Guide, a combative former Highlanders and Zimbabwe youth international together with imposing Temwanjira fell down the pecking order at Gamecocks last season, a development which was coupled by the clubas signing of seasoned players that include Teenage Hadebe, Obadiah Tarumbwa, Pride Tafirenyika, Moses Demera and Physwell Madhazi just before the start of the local season.

Midfielder Bhekimpilo a?Bhakhaa? Ncube just vanished into thin air leaving the club with no choice but to leave him out of the registered squad.

a?He just disappeared when we were about to finalise our squad.A He has a running contract with us but we donat know about his whereabouts. He just went AWOL and we couldnat register him. Bhakhaas contract with us is set to run out at the end of the year,a? said the chairman.

Bhakha, is an ex Dynamos, Highlanders , FC Platinum and Motor Action left footed midfielder who enjoyed a good working relationship with Chicken Innas technical boss Joey Antipas during their days at the now defunct Mighty Bulls.

After their great start of the 2016 season that saw them thump Dynamos 3-0 at Barbourfields Stadium last Saturday, Antipas and his charges are set to take on Premier Soccer League newboys Border Strikers in their week two encounter.

Border Strikers are smarting from a 2-0 away defeat at the hands of ZPC Kariba .
